Where does Eco Defense Group work?

We are in multiple countries in Africa. For reasons of operational security we do not disclose details about where we work and the capabilities we introduce. To disclose those specifics could compromise the safety of the extraordinary and brave men and women we support and the units we help develop and equip.

Does Eco Defense Group hire?

We are staffed exclusively by veterans and specialists from certain military units and backgrounds. Except for special circumstances we do not accept resumes nor hire from outside for field development work. Occasionally we hire or partner for assistants, marketing and fundraising.

Why do you blur faces in your pictures?

Because both Eco Defense Group specialists and the Rangers and wildlife protection officers with whom we work could be targets of poaching syndicates and may have careers which necessitate limited exposure. Safety is our primary concern for all involved in protecting endangered animals — on and off the job.

Does Eco Defense Group engage poachers?

No. We support frontline rangers who face danger and direct conflict. Ours is a supportive, training and consultation role.

Are you on social media?

Barely. Operational security is paramount; we rely on private relationships with donors and sponsors to enable our work. We are in it for the results; not the credit. We strive to work without the need for exposure.

How can I help?

Our greatest need is financial support and advocacy. We encourage and greatly appreciate every donation we receive. A monthly contribution of any amount gives us a financial foundation. You can also spread the word and order from our Amazon list.
